Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart

The "Humble Voices" magazine

It was born, by Sister Clotilde Salvì, as a bulletin in June 1948, in Pellaro (RC): a 4-sided sheet that reported a spiritual thought and the chronicles of school and family events. It was called "Humble voices of a great apostolate". Responsible director was Don Giuseppe Caruso.

Between November-December 1954 the editorial staff moved to Tivoli and the bulletin underwent a slight modification. The first article was always formative, then the news and information followed.

The direction passed to Msgr. Mario Iacovelli, parish priest of San Giorgio, the church adjacent to the generalate house.

Since December 1972 the commemoration of the founding Father, Msgr. Giuseppe Cognata and the pages became 8. In 1984 Msgr. Mario Iacovelli was replaced by Msgr. Adriano Rocisvaldo Toto, parish priest of the Duomo, and the bulletin became a quarterly magazine.

In 1989, following the death of Msgr. Adriano Toto, the management passed to Don Antonio Persili, still in charge, who took over from Msgr. Iacovelli in the parish of “S. George".

The magazine, including training articles, word of the Founder and chronicles of family events, consists of 32 pages; the editorial team, made up of Salesian Oblate Sisters, is collaborated by various priests and lay people who support the Congregation.
